Terms of Service — EU Tariff & Landed Cost Calculator

Last updated: 2026-08-04

These terms govern your use of the “EU Tariff & Landed Cost Calculator” Chrome extension (the “extension”). By installing or using the extension, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not install or use it.

1. What the extension is

The extension is an estimation tool. It calculates an estimated import cost for a shipment sent to a European Union country, based on:

From these inputs it estimates customs duty, VAT, a total landed cost, and the added cost as a percentage of declared value. All calculation happens locally in your browser, using a static table of EU VAT rates and duty parameters bundled inside the extension.

The extension is not a customs broker, not a filing service, and not a tax service. It does not submit anything to any customs authority on your behalf.

2. Not official customs or tax advice

This is the most important term in this document.

The figures the extension produces are estimates for reference and planning purposes only. They do not constitute official customs advice, tax advice, or legal advice, and they are not a guarantee of accuracy.

Duty and VAT rules change, are applied differently by different member states, and depend on facts the extension does not know about your shipment. In particular:

Always verify against official sources, or consult a qualified customs or tax professional, before making business decisions. Do not rely on the extension’s output as the sole basis for pricing, quoting, or declaring a shipment.

3. Free tier and Pro version

The extension has two tiers:

Pro costs $14.99 as a one-time payment. This is not a subscription. There is no recurring charge, no auto-renewal, and nothing to cancel. You pay once and Pro stays unlocked on that installation.

We may change the price of Pro for future purchasers. A price change never retroactively affects a purchase you have already made.

4. Payment and license keys

Payments are processed by Creem (creem.io), our third-party payment provider and merchant of record. When you upgrade, checkout happens on Creem’s own page — we never see or handle your card details.

After purchase you receive a License Key. Entering it in the extension unlocks Pro. When you activate, the key is sent over HTTPS to our license-verification service to check that it is valid; see the Privacy Policy for exactly what is transmitted.

You agree not to share, resell, publish, or redistribute your License Key. A key found to be shared or used fraudulently may be deactivated.

Because Pro status is stored locally on your device, uninstalling the extension or clearing its storage will clear it. Keep your License Key so you can re-activate; you do not need to buy again.

5. Refunds

If Pro does not work for you, you may request a refund within 14 days of purchase. Contact us at the address in Section 9, or contact Creem directly, and include the email address you used at checkout.

You do not need to give a reason. Once a refund is issued, the associated License Key is deactivated and Pro access ends.

Refunds are processed by Creem and are returned to the original payment method. How quickly the money appears depends on your bank or card issuer, not on us.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, and nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

8. Changes to the extension and to these terms

We may update, change, or discontinue the extension or any of its features at any time. Because the duty and VAT rules it models are new and still changing, the calculation parameters in particular are expected to be updated.

We may also revise these terms. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes will not be applied retroactively to a purchase you have already made. Continuing to use the extension after a change means you accept the revised terms.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of China, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

If you use the extension as a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of any mandatory consumer-protection rules of the country where you habitually reside. Where those rules give you rights that cannot be waived by agreement, those rights continue to apply alongside these terms.
